Diogo e Ana trocaram o bulício da cidade, pela paz e tranquilidade da secular Aldeia da Mata Pequena.
Integrada numa paisagem surpreendentemente preservada, lançaram mãos à obra para a resgatar do estado de ruína em que se encontrava. E quiseram partilhá-la consigo! A ideia foi respeitar rigorosamente a identidade de cada uma das casas, desde a sua arquitectura, aos materiais de construção utilizados, até ao mobiliário, dotando-as simultaneamente de todas as condições de conforto e de habitabilidade dos nossos dias.
Premiada oficialmente e aclamada na comunicação social, a Aldeia da Mata Pequena, afirma-se hoje como um dos raros exemplares da arquitectura tradicional da região saloia. Mafra com o seu imponente Palácio (a apenas 8km), a Praia da Ericeira (a 15km) e Sintra, património da humanidade, (a menos de 20 km), são alguns pontos de visita obrigatórios.
Em cada casa encontrará produtos da região para o seu pequeno almoço e o pão de Mafra, cozido em forno de lenha, é entregue, ainda fumegante, todas as manhãs à sua porta. Se não lhe apetecer cozinhar em casa ou pegar no carro para ir a um restaurante, poderá sempre recorrer à tasquinha da aldeia e apreciar os petiscos tradicionais preparados para si.

We stayed in the little Wine Press House down below the level of the main village - this one give you a beautiful wide open view to the valley below and the mountains. It was August and extremely hot during the day, but due to the south-facing aspect of the house, there was lovely cool shade over the small terrace in the morning. Our host Tatiana was extremely helpful and catered to a couple of whims, like adding another reading chair on request, and allowing us to stay longer and check out in the evening to nurse a surfing injury. The bed was a mezzanine, which I would not have chosen if I knew it would be, but it turned out to be just fine and very beautiful. Shower water pressure and temperature was really great. Everything was clean, cosy and good. There was a perfect little restaurant in the village too. The whole experience - highly recommended!!! Thank you Diogo and Tatiana.

Das Dorf ist sehr idyllisch; noch schöner als auf den Bildern. Regelmäßig kommen auch kleine Grüppchen Tagestouristen hierher und fotografieren sich vor dem schönen Hintergrund. Die Häuschen sind mit sehr viel Liebe gekonnt restauriert. Im Innern fühlt man sich eine ganze Epoche zurückversetzt. Wir mussten uns erst etwas daran gewöhnen, aber letztlich war alles da, was wir brauchten, nur nicht in modernster Ausführung, und wir fanden es dann sogar charmant. Morgens hing leckeres noch warmes frisch gebackenes Brot an der Tür, am Sonntag auch eine Überraschung dazu. Die Erstausstattung im Kühlschrank war gut. Säfte und Milch gab es mehr als wir brauchten. Kaffee etc. konnte man sich nachfüllen lassen.
Die Besitzer sind sehr sympathisch und hilfsbereit und nehmen sich viel Zeit, um auf die Gäste einzugehen. Trotz der abgelegenen Lage ist das Dorf gut angebunden. Nach Mafra braucht man mit dem Auto nur 10 Min.

This place was amazing. Authentic and great value. We had a fabulous time exploring the area, the staff was fabulous and the restaurant in the village was one of the best we ate at on our trip. We loved it so much, we will be back. It is very impressive what the owners are doing to preserve the old village. It even has a little farm with donkeys, sheep and bunnies. If you need fancy hotel amenities this is not for you. If you want the most beautiful cottage on top of a mountain with quite it is incredible.

Wir, eine junge Familie aus Deutschland (zwei Kinder, 3 Jahre und 6 Monate) verbrachten 14 Tage im wunderschönen Dorf und das, trotz instabiler Wetterlage (teilweise kalte und nasse atlantische Tiefdruckgebiete). Die Häuser sind basic im Stile rustikaler Landhäuser eingerichtet, viel Stein (incl. Waschbecken usw.), alles sauber, für uns völlig ausreichend, auf Wunsch Room-Service. Täglich frisch gebackenes noch warmes Brot an der Haustüre, der Kühlschrank wird mit Frühstücksutensilien bestückt. Ana und Diogo sind sehr zuvorkommende Gastgeber und stehen mit Rat und Tat und einem kleinen Krämerladen zur Seite (wir haben einen Sonnenschirm, eine Kindertrage und eine Wäschespinne ausleihen können). Das Dorf liegt traumhaft zwischen Stoppelfeldern im hügeligen Hinterland nördlich von Lissabon, im Dorf ein sehr gutes Tapasrestaurant, Lissabon in 40 min., die Atlantikküste in 20-40 min., Sintra in 20 min. mit dem Auto erreichbar (je nachdem wo man hin möchte). Es gibt diverse Haustiere im Dorf, einige Häuser sogar mit eigenem Stall (Hasen, Meerschweinchen, Wachteln incl. tägl. Wachteleiern zum Frühstück), außerdem Esel, Ziegen, Schafe, Hühner, Gänse und ein Schwein (der Liebling unserer Tochter). Wir würden jederzeit nach Aldeia da Mata Pequena zurückkehren, ein wunderbarer Ort zum entspannen.

I stayed at Aldeia da Mata Pequena with a friend for a week to explore Lisbon and surrounding area. We found a wonderfully renovated traditional Portuguese village and a thoughtfully restored house. It was a superb place to relax and use as a base to visit Lisbon, Sintra and beaches in Setubal. Diogo and his family are very kind, welcomed us warmly and were very helpful with recommendations. I will surely be back!

We felt in love with the charming and quiet atmosphere of the village and the lovely surrounding. We had two unique houses next to each other, each with beautiful antique Portuguese furniture. It was like living in ancient times, but having all the comforts you need. The owners, Ana and Diogo, are wonderful hosts and make you feel at home. We really enjoyed the fresh baked bread and other tasty treats they brought us in the morning.
Our kids loved to accompany Diogo when he fed the animals.
We all felt sad when we had to leave the place and will definitely come back.

Wir, eine Familie mit 2 Kindern (5 und 9) waren in dem Haus mit Pool. Es war wunderschön. Mit Liebe restauriert, autenthisch eingerichtet, sauber und liebevoll für uns hergerichtet. Die Kinder hatten viel spaß mit den Tieren und duften beim Füttern helfen. Es gibt ein Restaurant (Mi - So geöffnet) welches auch sehr zu empfehlen ist (wobei der Kellner etwas unfreundlich ist).
Die Besitzer von Mata Pequena Ana und Diogo sind sehr hilfsbereit und geben wertvolle Ausflugstipps. Sehr empfehlenswert!

We enjoyed our stay in the village and found it a very unique experience. The houses have everything you would need for your stay and really make you feel like you have gone back in time! The village is situated in a great area to explore many sights of Portugal. It was always nice to come home to our quiet house. I would recommend a stay here for anyone looking for something different and peaceful.

Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Für uns ein ganz besonderer Ort. Jeden Morgen gab es frisch gebackenes Brot an die Tür gehängt. Es war Milch, Butter, Kaffee, Saft, Aufschnitt, Müsli etc. alles da und liebevoll hergerichtet. Diogo und seine Frau sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir waren leider nur 5 Nächte da.

Wir waren überrascht von der Idylle und Ruhe des Ortes. Sehr erholsam. Der Inhaber hat uns viele wertvolle Tipps geben können und ist ausgesprochen nett und hilfsbereit. Von dem Quartier können viele Unternehmungen durchgeführt werden und jedes Mal waren wir froh, wieder zurückzukommen.
Wir werden sicher noch einmal wiederkommen und können dieses Quartier sehr empfehlen.

Estuvimos cinco días. Fue una maravilla. Las casas son hermosas. Llenas de detalles. Ese vino de bienvenida, ese pan caliente para el desayuno cada mañana, información sobre el entorno... Esa sensación de acogida no de ser un cliente (eso es lo más grande de mata pequena)... El sitio fantástico y cerca de Lisboa, de Sintra, de la playa...La atención de 10. Felicitaciones para Diogo y Ana. Muy muy muy recomendable

wir lieben Dich. Wunderschöner Ort, tolle und liebenswerte Gastgeber, die jeden Wunsch von den Augen ablesen. Ländliches Idyll, wovon nur geträumt werden kann. Ein perfekter Service und die Nähe zum Atlantik, Sehenswürdigkeiten wie Mafra, Sintra oder Obidos und wer die Großstadt braucht ist fix mit dem Auto in Lissabon. Hinfahren und entspannen, einfach herrlich, nur zu empfehlen, hoffentlich steigen jetzt die Preise.
