Hotel Casa de las Cuatro Torres

An attraction in itself, Hotel Casa de las Cuatro Torres is arguably one of the most enviable places to stay in the whole of Cádiz. Catalogued as ´Bien de Interés Cultural´(BIC) and as an asset of cultural interest since 1976, this building contains the history of Cádiz, quite  literally, within its walls. The neo-classical house was originally built in 1736, when houses were prohibited to have more than 1 observatory tower, and so the owner creatively built 4 houses in the same building. The 4 towers provide unparalleled panoramic views of the city. The building was restored in 2015, using all of the same materials and techniques used in the 18th century to maintain its authenticity. Each room has an uncovered wall so that guests can appreciate the oyster stone, full to the brim with marine fossils, and wooden beams that were made from the ships that sank or were scrapped in the bay.

In keeping with the maritime theme, each room is named after an 18th century sailor, who was born or lived in Cádiz. The rooms each contain decorative elements, which specifically allude to the character its named after. Even the room labels have been specially designed by local craftsmen maintaining the same design used since the 1700s to indicate street names.

Not only is the building itself incredible but also the invaluable services it provides. The hotel provides private tours of the city, bike rental, and there´s even the option of a coeliac breakfast. The location is ideal, right in the heart of the historic old town, close to Cádiz Museum, Cortes Museum, Cádiz Cathedral, Genovés Park, and a short distance to La Caleta Beach.
