PRÍNCIPE - VACATION FAR AWAY FROM THE CROWD
Príncipe is the northern, smaller island of the two main islands of São Tomé and Príncipe. Together with the small surrounding islands it forms the province Príncipe. Actually this island is a real insider tip for a dream holiday far away from mass tourism.
Although the island only has a length of 19.3 km and a width of 10.6 km, it convinces of breathtaking diversity and breathtaking nature. White beach and crystal clear blue water meet green tropical forests and mountains: a unique paradise. Around 90 percent of the island is covered with rainforest. This tropical forest offers many adventures for hikers: small trails lead into the jungle. There are beautiful waterfalls and mountains to be found. In the city, local guides offer various one-day and multi-day trekking tours to get to know the little mysterious island and walk through it.
Another highlight of the island is the beach called Banana Beach. It is located in the northeast of the island and offers soft sand, turquoise water and big rocks. The water has a temperature between 25 and 29 degrees and is perfect for diving, paddling or bathing.
In the interior the temperatures are somewhat cooler. At an average temperature of 20 degrees, longer walks and bicycle tours can be undertaken.

GASTRONOMY ON PRÍNCIPE
Both in the smaller local restaurants and in the larger ones in Principe there are various fish dishes, soups and salads, which are characterized by Portuguese as well as African cuisine and are always freshly prepared. In addition to fish or pork, cassava, millet, rice and plantains are usually served. An absolute recommendation are the local grill stands. Here you get delicious fresh fish served straight into your hands. Since there are only a few restaurants in Príncipe, we recommend that you book accommodation with half board.
ACTIVITIES ON PRÍNCIPE
Crystal clear water with an average temperature of 25 degrees, fine sand and large palm trees: it is hard to find a more beautiful place in the world to spend a relaxing day on the beach. The island of Príncipe has numerous small and large beaches that are ideal for relaxing, floating in the water and drinking cocktails undisturbed in a hammock. Several beaches are only open to guests of the hotels, so you can be sure that you will enjoy your holiday undisturbed.
In the interior, the temperatures are somewhat cooler and very pleasant for hikes in the magnificent tropical forest. Alternatively you can rent a bike and explore natural phenomena such as waterfalls and the impressive mountains.
