Located in the idyllic Campiña de Valencia de Alcantara, only 2 kilometres from the Portuguese border, is this rustic, stone built and totally alluring group of connected country apartments. Previously the home of farmers and goat keepers, it has recently been restored to an excellent level of comfort, without taking away any of its rural ambience. The interior has a truly cosy feel and is dominated by warm, earthy colours. Rooms, some of which have sloping ceilings and wooden beams, are simple and retain this country appeal.

Even the swimming pool, attractively located in the middle of a well-cared for garden, has been carefully thought out. It is made of slate, for example, which maintains a good water temperature and fits in well with the rustic feel of Puerto Roque. This is an excellent area for trekking and there are some excellent trails close at hand. Otherwise visitors may hire a bike or simply enjoy the rich nature at their disposal.
